We are eager to see the progress that you make in your time in Year 4 and the fun that you will have along the way!
Our PE days will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays so please wear your PE kits to school on these days.
Please encourage your child/children with their home reading and talk with them about the stories they are reading and the characters that they may come across.

Cultural Week - South African silhouette artwork
Here are a few shots from our Cultural Week assembly. Enjoy!
Science - Electricity and Design Technology - Torches
For the culmination of our Science (Electricity) and DT (Making torches) units, we designed our own working torches, building circuits and making switches adding reflectors and a housing for them too! We were really proud of our efforts.
Paramedic Visit & Rainforest Art
This week has been full of excitement and creativity! We were thrilled to welcome a paramedic to school, who shared fascinating insights about their role and how they save lives. The children were captivated, asking thoughtful questions and even trying out some basic first aid techniques!
In our first art lesson of the term, we delved into the wonders of the rainforest. The students explored vibrant colors, textures, and patterns, creating their very own rainforest "mood boards." This creative session set the stage for an inspiring term of art centered on the beauty and diversity of rainforests.
Stay tuned for more updates on our exciting learning adventures!
DT - Building structures
In DT, the children explored building structures using cocktail sticks and jelly tots to test different frame designs. They experimented with shapes like triangles and squares to see which were the strongest and most stable. Through hands-on problem-solving, they discovered how framework structures provide support and stability, making real-world connections to bridges and buildings. It was a fun and engaging way to learn about engineering principles!
Science - A messy experiment!
In science, the children took part in a fun but messy experiment to explore the human digestive system. They recreated the journey of food through the body, using different materials to represent each stage of digestion. From mashing food to squeezing it through tubes, they saw first-hand how the body breaks down and processes what we eat. It was a hands-on and engaging way to bring learning to life!
