Welcome to our School Website!
On behalf of the children, staff and governors of Farington Primary School, I would like to welcome you to our school website.
Farington Primary School is a special place, where we strive to ensure that children receive the very best education in a friendly, fun and nurturing environment. If you are looking for a place for your child, I encourage you to get in touch so that we may show you everything we have to offer.
I hope you are able to find out any information that you need on this site, however, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions regarding our lovely school.
Mr G. Hollinghurst, Headteacher
The start of a new school year is an exciting time: for children , parents, teachers and headteachers too! It’s a fresh start after a long much needed break. I do hope you have enjoyed the summer.
We have lots of exciting plans this year. We are hopeful about bringing back trips and educational visitors to school. We are looking at the latest teacher research to make sure your child gets the very best learning experience every day. We will be developing our curriculum and focusing on reading and spoken language. Finally, and most importantly, I have been working on a programme to promote children’s self-confidence and self-belief, so they can thrive in school and beyond. There is more to be done on this but I will be working with my colleagues in school and will update you soon.
I want to emphasise partnership again. We worked together so well in challenging times and now we can build on this. We will be seeking your views about school and your own child’s experience regularly this year. If you are happy with what we are doing, tell your friends and family! If there is anything we need to know about your child or anything you are unhappy with: please tell us. We are here to help.
Arrangements around pick up and drop off of children are much more relaxed this year. Children who have been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 will not need to isolate. However, if your child or any of their close contacts, including family members shows symptoms, please book an immediate PCR test and keep them off school until you get a negative result. We still need to contain the spread of the virus as best we can.
Farington parents, I look forward to being able to meet you properly this year, starting on Thursday. At Marus Bridge, I will see you on the gate on Tuesday 7th-can’t wait!
