We are looking forward to watching your adventure as you embark on your learning journey as junior children. We hope that you will have lots of fun as well as making the best possible progress.
Our PE days will be on Thursdays and Fridays so please wear your PE kits to school on these days.
Please encourage your child/children with their home reading and talk with them about the stories they are reading and the characters that they may come across.
Keep a look out for photos of our learning and fun on our class page and social media.Â
Indian dancing
As part of our Cultural Week, and learning all about India, Year 3 have been taking part in some traditional Indian dancing. Enjoy our video!
Design and Technology
During D.T, we have finally finished sewing and stuffing our cushions and the finished articles are truly fantastic and testament to all the hard work and resilience of the children.
Maths - Scaling up numbers
The children in Class 3 have been learning how to scale up (make numbers 10 times bigger) in Maths and they all proved to be super mathematicians!
STEM Week in Year 3 – Pneumatic Monsters!
This STEM Week, Year 3 had an exciting time exploring pneumatics! Using air power, we designed and built our very own pneumatic monsters. Through hands-on experimentation, we discovered how air can be used to create movement, making our monsters' mouths open, arms lift, or eyes pop out!
We started by learning about how pneumatics work and experimenting with syringes and tubing to see air in action. Then, we designed our monsters, thinking about how we could use air pressure to bring them to life. After lots of creativity (and a little problem-solving!), we built our final designs.
Take a look at our process and some of our fantastic final creations—we are so proud of what we made! 🚀🎨🔬
Science - Forces
In Science, the children were introduced to 'Forces' as part of our Science topic. The children were applying forces to make objects move, change direction and stop.
Geography - Europe Atlas Skills
Exploring Europe: Atlas Skills in Geography
Our children have been developing their geographical skills by learning how to use an atlas to locate countries across Europe. This activity helps them build spatial awareness, map-reading abilities, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
What We Have Been Learning:
How to navigate an atlas efficiently using the index and coordinates.
Identifying countries, capital cities, and key geographical features of Europe.
Recognising flags, landmarks, and cultural aspects of different European nations.
